WEST PORTSMOUTH — The Fairland Lady Dragons have a long bench and it made it a long night for Portsmouth West.

The Fairland Lady Dragons put four players in double figures and got some solid bench play from Issy McKinney and Jackie Wagner as they belted the Portsmouth West Lady Senators 73-31 on Monday in a non-league game.

“Our depth inside was big. We got in some foul trouble and Wagner and McKinney did a nice job coming off the bench. I was happy with the job they did,” said Fairland coach Jon Buchanan.

Emily Chapman led the quartet with 16 points. Allie Marshall scored 12 points while Taylar Wilson and Emma Fulton had 10 each for the Lady Dragons (14-2) who had nine different players score.

Wagner pulled down eight rebounds.

Terra Butcher scored 16 points for West (1-16).

Marshall and Chapman scored seven points each as Fairland erupted for a 23-8 first quarter lead.

Chapman had five more points in the second quarter as the Lady Dragons stretched the lead to 36-15 at the half.

Kelsie Warnock scored all five of her points in the third quarter and Fairland outscored West 21-11 to open up a 57-26 lead.

Fulton scored six of her points in the fourth quarter as the Lady Dragons continued to extend their lead.

Fairland visits Portsmouth on Thursday.
