Success By 6® to host event Feb. 6
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Children and families will have a chance to escape the wintry weather this February.
United Way of the River Cities’ Success By 6® initiative is hosting its 16th annual Super Kids, Super Families, Super Saturday event on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. This event is free and open to the public.
Local organizations will also provide activities for young children and resources for parents and caregivers about the “12 Tips for Raising a Healthy Child.” Success By 6® seeks to ensure that all children are ready physically, mentally, developmentally, emotionally and socially to begin kindergarten.
The event will also include door prizes and other giveaways.
“For 16 years, Success By 6® has hosted this event in our community,” said Lena Burdette, director of Education Initiatives, United Way of the River Cities. “Our community partners will be on hand to have activities with kids, based on Success By 6®’s ’12 Tips for Raising AaHealthy Child’ and also showcase their services. It’s a win/win situation, and it is all a whole lot of fun.”
