GALLIPOLIS — The South Point Lady Pointers were slow starters, but once they warmed up they kept running.

After falling behind 17-15 in the first quarter, South Point rallied to rout the Gallipolis Blue Angels 68-52 on Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Gallipolis had only one turnover in the first quarter and took a 17-15 lead.

The Blue Angels had 17 turnovers over the next two quarters as they fell behind 36-33 at the half and were outscored 22-4 in the third quarter as South Point went up 58-37.

Brooklyn Badgett scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Lady Pointers (10-9, 6-5). She also had eight rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Kate Mundy had 12 points and Abby Hannah scored 11 points. Ashley Perkey had six rebounds and Leah Lawson handed out five assists.

Adrienne Jenkins scored 19 points and Carly Shriver 11 points for Gallipolis (2-16, 2-10).

South Point hosts Ironton on Monday.
