Be responsible during game

Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest days for food consumption in the United States, coming in second behind Thanksgiving.

While sales of guacamole and chips and pizzas go through the roof, so does the sale and consumption of beer. It’s estimated that Americans will drink more than 325 million gallons of beer during the Super Bowl.

That fact alone makes it a good idea to remember how important it is to drink responsibly.

Whether you’re rooting for the Carolina Panthers or the Denver Broncos, everyone who choses to celebrate this sporting event with alcohol should know their limits.

If you go out to a local bar or restaurant to watch the game tonight, make sure you have a designated driver to get you home safely. Or, have the number of a taxi service on speed dial in your phone.

If you’re hosting your own Super Bowl party, help your guests make a responsible decision to not drink and drive and make sure they have a safe and sober way home, and do not serve alcohol to anyone under 21 years of age.

If everyone is a responsible team player, the Super Bowl can be a fun and safe event, no matter who wins the game.
