tourney tickets on sale

Sectional tournament tickets are now on sale for the boys and girls Division III sectional basketball tournament games.

Tickets are $5 each and available in the high school main office. Ironton receives only a percentage of the pre-sale.

The girls play at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rock Hill High School. The boys play at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Jackson High School.

Ironton Little League

sets registration dates

The Ironton Little League will be conducting registration for boys’ and girls’ leagues aged 4-and-up for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons.

Registrations will be on the following dates, times and locations:

Thursday, Feb. 11, 4:30-to-7:30 p.m. at the Ironton Middle School; Thursday, Feb. 25, 5-to-8 p.m. at Wendy’s, Fourth and Center Streets.

Registrants’ will be required to provide proof of age (birth certificate) and three proof of residency if the child does not attend a school within league boundaries.

Other dates of interest:

March 5 tryouts for minor league and above); March 7 make-up tryouts; March 8 draft (minor league and above); March 12 practices begin; April 9 Opening Day.

The South Point Little League will conduct registrations on Thursday, Feb. 18, at South Point Giovanni’s Pizza.

Not only will registrations for boys’ and girls’ baseball and softball be conducted, Giovanni’s will donate a portion of the sales each day to the little league.

 

 

Lady Vikes’ softball set

annual rummage sale

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings’ softball team annual rummage sale will be held from 8 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, in the high school gym.

Anyone wishing to donate any items for the rummage sale may drop them off at the school from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, March 4.

If persons have items needing to be picked up, call coach Jeff “Odie” Estep at (740) 643-2371 (school) or 643-2021 (home).

 

 

Youth AAU basketball

An AAU basketball tournament will be held Friday through Sunday, March 11-13, at South Point High School for boys and girls in grades 3-11.
