Carol Donini

Jan. 30, 1935 — Feb. 22, 2016

Carol Donini, 81, of Portsmouth, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at the SOMC Hospice Center. She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Mechanicsburg, a daughter of the late Earl Cecil Borders Sr. and Irma Marie Perry Caskey.

A 1953 graduate of Ashland (KY) High School, Carol was retired from U.S. Bank where she worked as a manager for many years. She was also an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister.

Surviving are her son, Roger Lee (Nita) Donini II, of Lucasville; her daughter, Lisa Dawne (Gerry) Tackett, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one brother, Earl Borders Jr., of Ashland; 10 grandchildren, Billy Collett, Gavin Wolfe, Kyra, Kerstyn, Taryn, Trevon, Karyssa and Tory Donini, Ryan (Kayla) Tackett and Rachel (Chuck) Walker; and three great-grandchildren, Zachary Collett, Flynn Tackett and Matthew Walker.

In addition to her parents, two brothers, Harold and Paul Borders, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Adam Streitenberger officiating and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth Thursday from 4-7 p.m., followed immediately by a wake service.

Henry L. Christian, 79, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Glenna Christian. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Friday at First Baptist Church of Chesapeake. Burial will follow in Brumfield Cemetery, Huntington, West Virginia. Wyatt Gibson

Wyatt Gibson, 75, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Ricky Burton

Ricky Ray Burton, 58, of Russell, Kentucky, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, in the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Visitation for family and friends will be after 11 a.m. Friday with funeral services being conducted at 1 p.m. by pastor Jeremy Sherrells at the Evans Funeral Home in Raceland, Kentucky. Burial will be in the Caroline Cemetery in Raceland.
