Hugh Lusk

Nov. 8, 1942 — March 4, 2016

Hugh Lawrence Lusk, 73, of Ironton, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County native was born Nov. 8, 1942, the son of the late John Orth and Fannie Marie Surritt Mayenschein. He is survived by his wife, Violet Dell Evans Lusk, whom he married Oct. 12, 1960.

Mr. Lusk was a 1962 graduate of Ironton High School and a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a former employee of Armco Steel Corporation, where he worked for 25 years and retired in 1991.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Lusk Dodson.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Annette Lusk Featherstone, of Hickory, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Anthony and Marissa Lusk, of Raceland, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Kelly Taylor, Neal Taylor Jr., Michael A. Lusk II and MaKayla Annise Lusk; and one great-grandchild, Hayven McKenna Taylor.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with pastor Clell Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
