FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Shawnee State Bears’ women team has a conference championship and Hannah Miller played a key role.
The former St. Joseph Female Flyers’ All-Ohio standout made some key contributions as the Bears won the Mid-South Conference basketball championship.
The Bears beat St. Catharine College 75-50 in the conference’s opening round, whipped Pikeville 88-69 in the semifinals and then battled past Campbellsville University 75-62 in the title game.
Miller played limited minutes against St. Catharine but got a start against Pikeville and scored seven points with three assists. She attempted just three shots.
In the championship game, Miller came off the bench and contributed a key 3-point goal that got the Bears within one point at the half.
Miller finished the tournament with 11 total points.
Shawnee State is now 28-5 on the season and secured an automatic berth in the NAIA Tournament. Pairings will be announced on Wednesday night on the NAIA Selection Show.
