COLUMBUS (AP) — Kamryn Kimmel scored 10 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter when Marion Pleasant rallied from eight points down to beat Gates Mill Gilmour Academy 50-47 in a girls Division III state semifinal on Thursday at Value City Arena.
The Spartans (27-2) will play Columbus Africentric on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. in the title game.
Gilmour (23-6) led 42-34 with six minutes to play but Kimmel keyed the comeback with two three-pointers from beyond the men’s college line.
Her basket with 1:09 left put the Spartans ahead 48-44 and, after a three-pointer by Gilmour’s Emily Kelley, she made a pair of free throws to make it 50-47. Gilmour missed a last-second shot to tie.
Summer Blevins had 18 points for Pleasant. Naz Hillmon led Gilmour Academy with 16.
