The Ironton Child Welfare Club has announced the 2015-2016 Eddy Test participants.

The Club’s Eddy Test will be given to the top 25 percent of sixth grade students from Ironton Middle School and St. Lawrence Catholic School based on state or national testing on March 17.

This all-day test covers reading vocabulary, reading comprehension, math problem solving, math computation, language, spelling, science and social studies. Lunch will be served by the Child Welfare Club.

The top one third of the participants along with their parents will be honored as Eddy Winners at a banquet hosted by the Child Welfare Club on May 12

The Child Welfare Club established this program 54 years ago. It is the club’s longest continuous project. The Eddy Award was established to identify students who attain superior academic achievement in the sixth grade. This year, 34 students will take the test.
