Ironton announces

public track schedule

A schedule has been announced for public access to the Ironton High School track during the spring sports season.

The track will be closed to the public from 3:30-to-6:30 during the week for track and field practice. It will also be unavailable during any high school and middle school track competition.

The school thanks the public for its understanding and cooperation.

 

 

District 14 All-Star Game

scheduled for March 22

The District 14 Senior All-Star basketball game will be held Tuesday, March 22, at Lucasville Valley High School.

The girls’ game begins at 6 p.m. followed by the boys’ game.

The District 14 Coaches will induct Richard “Rick” Hopkins into their hall of fame between games. Hopkins is a former coach who worked at Portsmouth, Portsmouth East and Portsmouth Notre Dame.

Four athletes from the district will be scholarship reciplients: Cameron Eckles of Washington Court House, Kimber Johnson of South Webster, Austin Opperman of Portsmouth West and Bryan Rolfe of Lucasville Valley field.

Admission is at the door.

 

 

 

Benefit softball tourney

scheduled for April 2-3

The Jon A. Robertson Rocket Challenge will be held April 2-3 at the Huntington High baseball field.

The double elimination tournament is a fundraiser for the Robertson Memorial Scholarship.

Home runs are unlimited and teams are to hit their own .44-core 400-pound compression or less.

Fee is $135 and there are limited spots. No modified, shaved or senior bats will be permitted.
