King’s Daughters offers tools to monitor your health

ASHLAND, Ky. — Nearly everyone is trying to live a healthier life. People are eating more nutritious foods, increasing physical activity, visiting healthcare providers regularly, and monitoring important health indicators.

King’s Daughters is offering two special screenings on Friday, April 22, at its Walk-In Care Center, 399 Diederich Boulevard, Russell, Kentucky.

The low-cost blood profile includes a complete blood count; comprehensive metabolic panel; lipid profile (LDL, HDL, total cholesterol and triglycerides); and thyroid stimulating hormone levels.

Total cost for the battery of tests is just $25. No appointment is needed, but fasting is required. Hours are 7 to 11 a.m.

The vascular disease screening consists of an ultrasound exam of the carotid arteries, which supply blood to the brain; an ultrasound of the abdominal aorta, which supplies blood to the lower half of the body; and an ankle-brachial index study, which looks for decreased blood flow to the legs and feet.
