Playing an unbeaten Jackson was tough enough, but missing several players didn’t help.

The Ironton Fighting Tigers’ tennis team lost 4-1 to the Jackson Ironmen on Friday at Beechwood Park.

Ironton — missing nine players — managed to get a win from the No. 1 doubles team of Mitchell Weisgarber and Cory Rawlins.

Also playing for Ironton was No. 1 singles Andrew McCown, No. 2 singles Matt Ball, No. 3 singles Sierra Valance, and No. 2 doubles team Brock Midkiff-Sands and Steven Scott.

Ironton visits Portsmouth Clay at 4:30 on Monday.
