Lady Pointers, Hannah beat Lady Panthers

SOUTH POINT — Abby Hannah did the pitching and her teammates took care of the rest as the South Point Lady Pointers beat the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 5-1 on Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Hannah pitched a three-hitter, stuck out six and walked two in getting the win.
South Point had 12 hits as Sara Allen went 3-4, Laken Adkins was 2-2, and Emilee Powell and Haley Rawlins each went 2-4.
South Point went up 1-0 in the first inning on a walk, two ground outs and Hannah’s RBI single.
The lead went 2-0 in the third on singles by Powell and Rawlins and an error.
The Lady Pointers made it 5-0 in the fourth.
Adkins singled, Jamishua Anderson doubled for a run and Allen had an RBI single. Rawlins then singled home the final run.
The Lady Panthers got their run in the sixth when Ryleigh Swann doubled and Brooke Webb singled.
Chesapeake hosts Tolsia on Tuesday. South Point visits Gallipolis on Wednesday.
