PEDRO — Harrah had the hammer.

Makenzi Harrah belted a grand slam homer to spark the Rock Hill Redwomen 10-0 five-inning win over the Northwest Lady Mohawks on Tuesday.

“We were fortunate to have the first inning we had and that helped in setting the tone,” said Rock Hill coach Sam Gue.

“Makenzi came up with a big grand slam. She is constantly getting the dugout going. She brings positive energy everyday and it shows with the way she plays the game.”

Rock Hill had eight hits with Harrah going 2-2 with a double and the grand slam home run. Kaci Russell and Jill Hairston were 2-4 each. Russell had two RBIs and Hairston added one.

“It was a nice team win in which everyone contributed in one way or another. Our defense was much better tonight,” said Gue.

In the five-run first inning, Kaci Russell singled, Jenna Lane was hit by a pitch and Hairston reached on an error to load the bases. Harrah then unloaded her grand slam for a 4-0 lead.

Riann Keating followed with a double and scored on a hit by Lily McGinnis.

The lead went to 8-0 in the third inning.

Harrah doubled and went to third on a passed ball. McGinnis grounded out as Harrah scored.

Anna Darby, Alexis Brammer and Taylor Hall all walked and Russell delivered a two-run single to cap the uprising.

Harrah walked, moved to second on a wild itch and scored on an error as Rock Hill went up 9-0 in the fourth.

The final run scored in the fifth when Russell reached on an error, Lane walked and Hairston drilled a hit down the left field line.
