Glen Blagg

May 27, 1934—April 19, 2016

Glen Ray Blagg, 81, of Ironton passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky.

The Decatur native was born May 27, 1934, a son of the late George L. Blagg and Mabel McFann Blagg Dillon.

Mr. Blagg attended Decatur Washington Schools and was a past member of the Decatur Missionary Baptist Church. He retired in 1984 after 34 years with the Dayton Malleable Iron Company in Ironton.

He was a member of the Ironton Knights of Columbus and enjoyed cars and racing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Blagg Hale.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Mary Ella Myers Blagg, whom he married June 13, 1952; three children, son and daughter-in-law, George Rodney and Debra Blagg, of Russell, Kentucky, son and daughter-in-law, David Lee and Dee Blagg, of Maryville, Tennessee, and daughter, Rhonda Blagg Thomas, of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Tanya Carpenter, Chad Blagg, Joshua Blagg, Justin Blagg, Staci Thomas, Kaci Thomas, and Kristen Thomas; four great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Eddie Evans, of Oak Hill.

Public graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Woodland Cemetery section 11 with the Rev Herman Stuart officiating. There will be no public visitation. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

Olive Mikles

Olive B. Cordial Pinkerman Mikles, 86, of Ironton, died Sunday, April 17, 2016. Private graveside services and burial were Wednesday at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens with pastor Bob Bradley officiating. Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Clarence Arrowood

Clarence “Country” Arrowood, 86, of Greenup, Kentucky, died Monday, April 18, 2016, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Robin, of Cynthiana, Kentucky. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Kentucky with Minister J. R. Gullett officiating. Entombment will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Military Rites will be performed by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Greenbo Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
