East Carter edges South Point, 4-2

SOUTH POINT — Walks plus errors equal bad news.

The South Point Pointers gave up eight walks and committed four errors in a 4-2 loss to the East Carter Raiders on Thursday.

East Carter (12-6) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a hit by Trace Jackson, a walk and an error.

The lead went to 2-0 in the third on a hit by Jackson, an error and a hit by Jordan Walburn.

The Raiders made it 4-0 in the top of the fifth on two walks, an error and a fielder’s choice.

South Point got a run in the bottom of the inning when Drew Adams tripled and scored on an error.

The Pointers other run came in the sixth when Chris Woodard reached on an error and Logan Wade doubled.

South Point will be at home against Rock Hill on Friday.
