Robin Carte

Oct. 21, 1952—April 19, 2016

Robin Carte, loving mother and friend, 63, of Deering, formerly of Huntington, passed away, Tuesday April 19, 2016, at home. She was born, Oct. 21, 1952, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Robert Joseph Moulton and Mary Jean Pearman Moulton.

She was 1970 graduate of Huntington East High School. She was previously employed with Corbin Limited for 30+ years and currently a retail sales associate for Wal-Mart in Ashland, Ky.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Richard Carte. She is survived by a daughter, Amy Reynolds Jackson, of Ironton; a stepdaughter, Tara Carte (Doug) Short, of Ashland; grandchildren, Madison and Aaron Jackson and Miranda Devaney; great grandchildren, Laynee Crabtree and Emma Grace Duncan; sister, Jan Moulton; mother-in-law, Betty Martin Carte; sister-in-law, Brenda Carte (Mark) Adkins; brothers-in-law, Charlie (Therese) Carte and Rick (Patty) Carte; nieces, Natalie and Katlyn; great nieces, Adrianna and Aa’Nyan; nephews, Chris, Eric, Austin, Tanner, Kyle and Todd; aunt, Carolyn (Tom) Smith and many special friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm. Monday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Trent Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.

Keith Schwab

Oct. 3, 1952 — April 21, 2016

Keith Eddy Schwab, 63, of Ironton, loving father and husband, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

He was born Oct. 3, 1952, in Ironton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Helen Hannahs; and one brother, Charles “Buddy” Schwab.

He was owner of Ohio River Valley Fire Protection. He was a fan of bluegrass festivals and an avid fisherman. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Callicoat Schwab; three sons, Bill (Michelle) Schwab, of Ironton, Jeff (Terri) Ash, of Chesapeake, and Scott (Jeannie) Schwab, of Norfolk, Virginia; four grandchildren, Amber Ash, Seth Schwab, MaKayla Schwab and Savannah Schwab; two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Patty Cartmell and Judy Schwab, both of Ironton, Joyce Back, of Middletown, Mary Yeager, of Marion and Shelly Peace, of Georgia; three brothers, Jim Hannahs, of Chesapeake and Kenny Schwab and John Schwab, both of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews; and his loving companion, Toby Keith Schwab.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, with pastor Steve Harvey officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton.  Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Helen Brislin

Oct. 25, 1933—April 22, 2016

Helen L. Valentine Brislin, 82, of Ironton, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at the King’s Daughter Medical Center in Ashland. The Franklin Furnace native was born Oct. 25, 1933, a daughter of the late Frank and Edna Holbrook Valentine.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years on Feb. 19, 2016, Robert C. Brislin, whom she married Oct. 19, 1955.

Helen was a 1951 graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a mother/homemaker who always put others first.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Brislin; a grandson, Steven M. Brislin; and a brother, Robert Valentine.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Sharon (Adam) Littlejohn of Ironton; son, David (Georgia) Brislin of Ashland; daughter-in-law, Teresa Brislin of Ironton; sisters, Wilma Martin and Ruth Colvin both of Ironton; sister-in-law, Mary Valentine of Ironton; four grandchildren, Kayla Brislin, Casey (Joe) Sark and Dr. Ryan (Victoria) Brislin, all of Ironton and Christopher (Luann) Brislin of Ashland; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Willard Metz officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Woodland Cemetery, section C.  Friends and family may call from 12 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
