David Wilson

Oct. 10, 1948 — April 19, 2016

David Boyd Wilson, 67, of Ironton, died April 19, 2016 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. He was born Oct. 10, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Hazel Boyd and Elmer Calvin (Bud) Wilson. He was the husband of Christy Waller Wilson.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He received the Air Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Presidential Unit Citation, Armed Forces Reserve Medal and Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal. He retired from the government as a computer network administrator. David attended Johnston Baptist Church.

He was preceded by three brothers. He is survived by his wife; son, Vinson Malone; four grandchildren, PV2 Michael David Wilson, Tyler Shane Wilson, Abigal R Malone, Caleb D. Malone; two surviving sisters, Della Andrews and Karen Whitehair and several nieces and nephews.

Jeffrey Pleasant

Jeffrey Lynn (Rabbit) Pleasant Sr., 60, of Ironton, died on Friday April 22, 2016, at home.

The son of the late Shirley Joan Chappell, he was an Ironton High graduate, worked at AK Steel, was a veteran of the US Air Force and member of VFW Post 8850 in Ironton.

Survivors include one daughter, Anglelina M. Pleasant; one son, Jeffrey Lynn (Morgan) Pleasant Jr.; grandchildren, Makena Pleasant and Jonathan and Taylor Hamilton; brothers, Randy Pleasant, Andre Davis, John (Tammy) Chappell and William (Tony) Chappell and sisters, Lisa Canada and Mary (Kevin) Isom and Denise Chappell.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home. Internment will follow at a later date.

Karolyn Dean Allen, 71, of Proctorville, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Burial will in Miller Memorial Gardens.
