Gary Waller

Aug. 27, 1944 — April 28, 2016

Gary Lee Waller, 71, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, in King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Mr. Waller was born Aug. 27, 1944, in Ironton, a son to the late William and Betty (Adams) Waller. He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Hall Waller, whom he married Feb. 18, 1993.

Mr. Waller was a 1962 graduate of Ironton High School, where he was first chair drummer for Ironton High School Million Dollar Marching Band. He retired in 2009 after 45 years as an operator from Armco Steel. He was a member of New Life Fellowship Baptist Church in Russell, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, William Michael Waller.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Doug (Tonya) Waller, of Ironton, Becky (Jon) Hitchcock, of Ironton, and Crissy Collins, of Coal Grove; five grandchildren, Connor Waller, of Ironton, Alexis (Matt) Mullins and Jacob Collins, both of Coal Grove, and Dominic Curiale III and Angel Curiale, of Cleveland; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends.

Janet Mullens

May 27, 1942 — April 28, 2016

Janet Elizabeth Mullens, 73, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born May 27, 1942, the daughter of the late Dave and Carrie Woods Horn. She is survived by her husband, Gerald “Pete” Mullens, whom she married May 30, 1963.

Janet was a 1960 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. She was retired from Hill’s Department Store, loved playing cards, going to Bingo and spending time with her grandbabies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud Horn and Bill Horn.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Candi Boyle and Bobbi (Dwayne) Runyon, all of Ironton; a son, David (Paula) Mullens, of South Point; a sister, Lois (Bill) Martin, of Coal Grove; a brother, Tom Horn, of Ironton; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Scott Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Haverhill Cemetery and visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Richard Wheeler

Richard Allen Wheeler, 59, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center. He is survived by his wife, Julie Ann Wheeler.
