Chelsea Perry

Nov. 12, 1993 — May 2, 2016

Chelsea Marie Perry, 22, was born Nov. 12, 1993, the daughter of Rhonda Perry and the late Darrel Perry. Chelsea changed homes on Monday evening, May 2, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Chelsea will no longer have to take medicine, go to a dialysis clinic, or miss her daddy so very much. She is leaving behind a host of family and friends who love her very much and will truly miss her.

She is survived by her mother, Rhonda Perry, of Michigan; one brother, Derek Fraley, of Tennessee; her paternal grandparents, Billie Lee Perry and the late Earl Perry, of Ironton; maternal grandparents, Harry and Betty Burton, of Virginia Beach, and Larry and Donna Smith, of Florida; a special aunt, Debbie Perry, who has been both a mommy and daddy to her these last few years; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins who love her very much.

Chelsea considered all the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Clinic, both Ironton and Ashland, her friends and they were all just super to her. Chelsea was a 2013 graduate of Rock Hill High School and spoke so often of two teachers she admired so much, Mrs. Firestine, who she said inspired her to love reading, and Mr. Simpson, who she said taught her to write better than her daddy and her granny.

Chelsea also enjoyed being included in so many activities at The City Mission Church. She would receive gifts and bunches of cards on Christmas and Valentines Day. She was kept on the prayer list there for many years. She also enjoyed the group from EUB Church on Cannons Creek coming to sing Christmas carols. She enjoyed going to Briggs Library and checking out books and tapes, the staff was always so kind to her. She loved to read, sing, watch cartoons on T.V. and winning trophies for the best jack-o-lantern.

We are all going to miss Chelsea so very much, but we can shut our eyes and see that little crooked grin and know that she is happy with her daddy now, and is no longer in pain and we will all be together again someday. She just went on home, to wait for us there.

Chelsea’s going home service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Etna Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from noon until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tim Stapleton, Aaron Hanshaw, Shane Hanshaw, Edgar Anna, Sam Frazer and Dale Mullins.
