Pizza Hut robbed by man with toy gun

ROME TOWNSHIP — The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that happened Saturday evening at the Pizza Hut on County Road 107 in Rome Township.

According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the robbery occurred at about 5:45 p.m. Employees said a white male wearing a grey shirt and a black and yellow bandana around his face entered the restaurant and brandished a handgun, which was later discovered to be a toy gun.

The man demanded money, pushed the manager and grabbed the money from the register and fled on foot, according to the release.
