PEDRO — Senior Night ended much like every other night for the Rock Hill Redwomen.

Rock Hill celebrated Senior Night with a 10-2 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Fairland Lady Dragons on Wednesday to finish the regular season 21-1 and 14-0 in the league.

“On Senior Night our seniors were able to provide a few sparks when we needed them. Riann (Keating) had another big night at the plate for us and they all contribute so much every time out,” said Rock Hill coach Sam Gue.

Jill Hairston got the win as she pitched a five-hitter, struck out eight and walked one.

Keating was 3-4 with a double and two runs batted in to lead an 11-hit attack. Kaci Russell was 2-4 with a triple and two RBIs as eight different players got hits.

Rock Hill got a run in the first when Russell singled, went to second on a sacrifice, took third on Hairston’s ground out and scored on a throwing error.

The lead went to 4-0 in second inning.

Lily McGinnis reached on an error, Anna Darby was hit by a pitch and Russell stroked a two-run triple. Russell then scored on a passed ball.

Fairland cut the deficit to 4-2 in the top of the fifth.

Mollie Morris singled and went to third base on Allison Shepherd’s base hit. Morgan Fridley reached on a fielder’s choice as Morris scored. Maddie Kazee then doubled home Fridley.

But Rock Hill answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning.

Hairston walked and Harrah and Keating singled to produce a run. McGinnis singled to load the bases and Darby and Harper had back-to-back two-run doubles.

The Redwomen capped the scoring with a run in the sixth on a single by Lane, a ground out and Keating’s RBI single.

Morris and Shepherd each went 2-4 to lead Fairland.

Rock Hill hosts South Point at 5 p.m. on Friday in the Division III sectional tournament.
