PROCTORVILLE — It didn’t seem big at the time, but it turned out to be huge.

River Valley got a run in the first inning and Dillon Ragan made it stand up as the Raiders blanked the Fairland Dragons 1-0 on Wednesday in the Division III sectional tournament.

The Raiders scored the only run with two outs as Jaime Bainter and Devin McDonald singled and Austin Ragan reached on an error as the run scored.

Collin Damron went 2-3 and Evan Burcham 1-3 as the Dragons managed just three hits.

Hayden James scattered 10 hits, struck out seven and walked two in taking the loss.

Dillon Ragan struck out seven and did not walk a batter in going the distance.
