Youth sports events to be held June 4

The Board of Directors of the Special Needs Youth Sportsmen, Inc. has scheduled a fishing derby, archery shoot and still target shoot for Saturday, June 4, at a private farm in Fayette Township in Lawrence County.
The event will start at 8 a.m. and end in the early afternoon. Refreshments will be provided free for early arrivals and a free lunch will be provided for participants and their families at noon.
There will even be volunteers on hand to clean and cook some of the fish caught by the participants. All equipment to participate in all activities will be furnished by SNYS, Inc.
There is no cost to attend or participate in this event. It is open to all special needs youth up through age 17. All eligible participants are welcome and urged to attend.
Approximately 400 pounds of catfish will be stocked in the pond prior to the event. A limited number of tagged fish will be released. Those catching the tagged fish will receive prizes.
Funding for this event is provided by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife, U. S. Sport Fish & Wildlife Restoration Fund, and private donations.
Directions to the event are as follows: From State Route 7 west of Chesapeake, turn north on County Road 15. Follow County Road 15 approximately 1.9 miles and turn right on County Road 59. Follow County Road 59 approximately nine-tenths of a mile and turn left onto Township Road 130-A. Follow 130-A approximately 1.9 miles to the event.
Signs directing persons to the event will be posted at the intersection of State Route 7 and County Road 15.
