Carolyn McFann

Dec. 19, 1941 — May 17, 2016

Carolyn Fay McFann, 74, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Mrs. McFann was born Dec. 19, 1941, in Ironton, a daughter to the late Raymond and Bessie (Mann) Pennington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred “Buddy” McFann, who passed away April 28, 2000.

Mrs. McFann was a graduate of Coal Grove High School. She was a retired medical assistant for Dr. Richard Saxby and Lawrence County General Hospital. She enjoyed shopping and doll collecting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by eight siblings, Helen Louise Webb, Berkley Howard Pennington, Thelma Louise Pennington, Irene Elizabeth Pennington Webb, Raymond Pennington, Jr., Donald Ray Pennington, Jimmie William Pennington and Anna Laura Hayes

She is survived by special sister-in-law, Janet DePriest, of Pedro, and will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Rob Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.
