Lunch program starts Monday

Free meals for children runs through Aug. 12

With help from the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization and community partners, children in need will once again get free summer lunches.

The Summer Food Service Program, funded by the USDA, begins Monday and serves meals to children ages 1-18 at 11 sites throughout the county.

Children are not required to show proof of income or residency.

The meals are offered on Mondays-Fridays through Aug. 12.

Locations are:

• Lawrence Village Apartments, 1097 County Roads 1 #71, South Point – Noon-1 p.m.

• Ironton High School, 1701 S. Seventh St., Ironton – 11 a.m.-noon

• Ironton Middle School, 302 Delaware St., Ironton

Breakfast: 8:30-9:30 a.m. – Lunch: noon-1 p.m.

• Ironton Metropolitan Housing Authority, 628 S. Ninth St., Ironton – 11 a.m.-noon

• First Baptist Church, 304 S. Fifth St., Ironton – 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

• Chesapeake United Methodist Church, 501 Second Ave., Chesapeake – 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

• Collins Career Center, 11627 State Route 243, Chesapeake – 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

• Burlington Commons Park, 130 Township Road 1022, South Point – 11 a.m.-noon

• Fairland East Elementary, 10732 County Road 107, Proctorville – noon-1 p.m.

• Rock Hill Schools, 2325A County Road 1022, Ironton – 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

• Storm Creek Apartments, 1505 Lawrence St. A13, Ironton – noon-1 p.m.
