CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals agreed to a deal on Friday with first-round pick William Jackson III, leaving all seven of their draft choices under contract.

The cornerback from Houston was the 24th overall pick. He’ll play on special teams and is envisioned in a backup role as a rookie. The Bengals return their starting cornerbacks, Dre Kirkpatrick and Adam “Pacman” Jones, as well as Darqueze Dennard.

The Bengals were looking to take a receiver in the first round, but the top four were gone by the time they got to their choice. They took Jackson to add to their depth at cornerback, the third time in the last five years that they’ve taken a cornerback with their top pick.
