Rebecca Johnson

Jan. 28, 1943 — June 12, 2016

Rebecca “Becky” Sharon Johnson, 73, of Russell passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Rebecca was born Jan. 28, 1943, to the late Strother and Lillian Hogge-Johnson in Ashland.

Becky was of the Nazarene faith. She loved her family and being surrounded by them is when she was happiest. When she wasn’t with them she was busy cheering on her UK Wildcats.

She is preceded in death by sisters, Dixie Johnson and Bonnie Nelson; and brothers, Gene and Gary Johnson.

Surviving are her sister, Bobbie Allen, of Flatwoods; and brother, Jack Johnson, of Ironton. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Carman Funeral Home with pastor Paul Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to service time.

Gordon Dennison

Gordon L. Dennison, 85, of Proctorville, died Sunday, June 12, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Norma Dennison. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Marie Parks

Marie Parks, 65, of Ironton, died, Friday, June 10, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.

Garland R. “Bus” Whitley, 95, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Heartland of Riverview South Point. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, by pastor Bill Flannery. Lee Robert Shavor, 39, of Barboursville, West Virginia, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Lowell T. (Butch) Stamper, 74, of Ironton, died June 10, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Shayne Wilds and Kenny Webb officiating. Burial will follow the service in Puckett Cemetery.
