David Bowen

Sept. 9, 1952 — July 9, 2016

David Richard Bowen, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at the age of 63.

David was born to parents Maude Payne Bowen and the late Richard L. Bowen on Sept. 9, 1952, in Ironton.

David was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ironton and was a member of Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina. He was a 1970 graduate of Ironton High School and an Eagle Scout in Ironton’s Troop 106.

David started his first building supply company, Lange Block Company of Ironton, in his twenties and continued to work in the concrete materials field with Metromont and Cemex for the next 25 years, developing personal and professional lifelong friendships. David lived in the Rock Hill/Charlotte area for 30 years working on his golf game, traveling and making people smile with his quick wit and generous smile.

In addition to his mother, David is survived by his sons, Jeremiah Bowen, of Huntington, West Virginia and Jacob Bowen, of Portland, Oregon; and their mother, Deborah Kitchen; his stepsons, Adam Sakoonserksadee, of Thailand and Michael Sakoonserksadee, of Austin, Texas; and their mother, Katherine Freid; as well as his sister, Elizabeth Wentz; and brother, Andrew (Beckey) Bowen, of Ironton; and his sister, Laurie (Robert) Chapman, of Columbus. His precious granddaughter, the apple of his eye, Mia Jade Marie Bowen, of Huntington, West Virginia, also survives him; as do his nieces and nephews, Gretchen (Wentz) Carney, Josh Wentz, Jason Bowen, Hope Bowen, Clark Chapman, Austin Bowen, Claire Chapman and Sara Bowen.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to dear and loving friends, Pepper Kitchen, Larry and Carol Mullis, and Jim and Flo Williams.

A memorial will be at St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Ironton at 11 a.m. on Saturday with pastor Wayne Rollins and followed by graveside services at Woodland Cemetery. Robert Wilson

Robert Joe (Bob) Wilson, 89, of Lewisburg, West Virginia, formerly of Minnehaha Springs, West Virginia, and Ironton, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg. He is survived by his wife, Treva (Shively) Wilson.

Jarvie Howard

Jarvie Howard, 80, of South Point, died Sunday, July 10, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Ronda Fennell Howard. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland, Kentucky, with the Rev. Paul Toney officiating. Hazel Young

Hazel E. Lovejoy Young, 72, of Proctorville, died Sunday, July 10, 2016. Visitation is at 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, with the funeral immediately following.
