Jo Ann Haynes

Jo Ann (Adkins) Haynes, 68, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, at her residence. The Ironton native was born May 27, 1948, a daughter to the late George and Fanny (Spillman) Adkins. Jo Ann is survived by her husband of 51 years, Homer Haynes.

Mrs. Haynes attended Ironton Schools. Jo Ann went on to work as a nurse’s aide at Jo-Linn Nursing Home for over 20 years. She was of the Christian/Baptist faith. Jo Ann loved gardening, flowering, puzzle shopping, playing guitar/singing, hummingbird watching, loved animals and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandson.

In addition to her husband, Jo Ann is survived by three daughters, Sherri Borghese, of Columbus, Jo Ann (Scott) Massie, of Franklin Furnace, and Melissa (Brian) Hughes, of Haverhill; five grandchildren, Tiffany Massie, of Franklin Furnace, Jeffery Massie, of Franklin Furnace, Tyler Hughes, of Haverhill, Alex Hughes, of Haverhill, and Tony Borghese, of Columbus; a great-grandson, William Carter Hughes, of Franklin Furnace; four sisters, Phyllis Ramey, of Fremont, Georgia Case, of Fremont, Jackie Campbell, of Canton, and Karen Shaffer, of Ashland, Kentucky; and two brothers, Paul Adkins, of Ironton, and Mark Adkins, of Canton.

In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by four sisters, Belle Thacker, Mary Jane McGuire, Rona Davis and Genny Sherman; and a brother, Larry Adkins.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Ronnie Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Haverhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Patricia Miller

Patricia Ann Miller, 50, of Huntington, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Monday, July 25, at Apostolic Life Cathedral Church, Huntington, with visitation to be one hour before the service at the church. Lonnie Adkins

Lonnie B. Adkins, 80, of Proctorville, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at River’s Bend Health Care, South Point. He is survived by his wife, Alice Victoria Adkins. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Proctorville VFW Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Georgia Beatrice Winkfield, 88, of Huntington, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at home. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Saturday at First Baptist Church, Huntington.
