Court handles full docket

Drug and theft charges, as well as probation violations filled the dockets at Lawrence County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday.

• Derik Berry, 20, of 814 Adams St., Ironton, was arraigned on a bill of information of fourth-degree burglary, to which he pleaded guilty. Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced the man to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation, STAR and 200 hours community service.

• Evelyn Caplinger, 43, of 113 Depot St., Coal Grove, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP, STAR, 200 hours community service and a six-month driver’s license suspension. She previously pleaded guilty to third-degree tampering with evidence and possession of drugs.

• Hosea Chapman Jr., 65, of 69 Township Road 1026, South Point, pleaded guilty to one fifth- and two fourth-degree counts of complicity to trafficking in cocaine. Bowling set sentencing for Aug. 3.

• Mark Gaspars Jr., 34, of 275 A. County Road 52, Ironton, was arraigned on a fourth-degree count of theft, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bowling set bond at $10,000 own-recognizance and GPS monitoring. A pretrial was set for Aug. 3.

• Joshua Folden, 27, of 1319 Park St., Huntington, was arraigned on a fourth-degree count of grand theft, to which he pleaded not guilty. Bowling continued bond from a lower court and added a $10,000 OR bond. A pretrial was set for Aug. 3.

• Keith Lanning, 42, of 1314 S. Eighth St., Ironton, was sentenced to four years CCS/ISP, 200 hours community service and a six-month driver’s license suspension. He previously pleaded guilty to three fourth-degree counts of trafficking in heroin.

• Melissa LeGrand, 40, of 54 Private Drive 1006, Scottown, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree complicity to breaking and entering and misdemeanor possession of drug abuse instruments and resisting arrest. Bowling ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for July 27.

• Marci Peters, 39, of 1314 S. Eighth St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to three fourth-degree counts of complicity to trafficking in heroin. Bowling set sentencing for Aug. 3.

• Amy Pringle, 32, of 30000 Paulins Hill Road, Middleport, was sentenced to two years CCS/ISP, treatment at Mended Reeds, 200 hours community service and a six-month driver’s license suspension. She previously pleaded guilty to two fifth-degree counts of possession of drug.

• James Stevens, 33, of 1625 County Road 128, Ironton, had his treatment in lieu of conviction revoked. Bowling sentenced the man to four years CCS/ISP, STAR and 200 hours community service.

• Tyler Adkins, 23, of 95 Township Road 1041, Chesapeake, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to five months in prison.

• Samantha Zornes, 26, of 1162 County Road 19, Kitts Hill, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 90 days in prison.

• James Baker, 50, of 61 Private Drive, Chesapeake, admitted CCS violations and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
