Lillian Arthur

Lillian Lorretta “Pat” Arthur, 80, of Coal Grove, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The Cleveland native was born Sept. 25, 1935, a daughter of the late Auto and Ruth Kazee Crabtree. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Arthur.

Pat was a former employee for Jo Lin Health Center, retiring in 2001. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed traveling, country bands and flower gardening.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was prececded in death by a son, Charles E. Arthur, Jr.; a daughter, Judy Gail Arthur Carver; and a grandson, Donald H. Delawder Reed.

She is survived by a daughter, Geraldine Arthur (James C.) Reed, of Huntington; a grandson, William E. Reed, of Huntington; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa P. Reed, Cade Isac Reed, Zane Christian and Cole Christian; two special cousins, Carolyn (Bob) Caudill, of Ashland, and Terri Wilson Pelfrey, of Ironton; many special people in her life, Christy Reed, Jenny Carver and Sara Christian; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Edward Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Tristen Yates

Tristen Yates, 20, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, as a result of a car accident in Massachusetts. The Ironton native was born March 12, 1996, a son of Amy Jane Palmer Speaks and the late Lee “Rowdy” Yates, Jr.

Tristen was a 2014 graduate of Ironton High School and an employee for the Premier Work Force Company.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Lee Edward Yates, Sr. and Linda Yates; and maternal grandfather, Mark W. Palmer.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Joe Speaks, of Kitts Hill; a daughter, Naomi Marie Elizabeth Brickey, of Ironton a sister, Kendall Speaks, of Kitts Hill; maternal grandparents, Deana Duvendeck Stambaugh and her husband Tom Stambaugh, of Ironton; stepgrandparents, Roger and Linda Cremeans, of Ironton; uncle and aunts, Mark (Mandy) Palmer, Rhonda Yates, Kathy Yates, Kim (Bob) Yates-Anders, all of Ironton, and Bill Pernell, of Columbus.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the church. Aletha Spears

Aletha Kay Preece Spears, 68, of Chesapeake, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. She is survived by her husband, Lee Spears. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016 at the funeral home. Jack Dehart

Jack Dehart, 62, of Hurricane, West Virginia, died Friday, July 22, 2016, at home. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

Freddie Sturm

Freddie Lounette Sturm, 94, of Proctorville, formerly of Grantsville, West Virginia, and Vienna, West Virginia, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at The Wyngate at River’s Edge Senior Living, Proctorville. Patricia Miller

Patricia Ann Miller, 50, of Huntington, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Monday at Apostolic Life Cathedral Church, Huntington, with visitation to be held one hour before the service at the church.
