DOVER — Maybe 13 is really a lucky number.

The Ironton Little League 9-10-year-old All-Stars banged out 16 hits en route to a 13-0 four-inning rout of Talmadge on Tuesday at the state tournament.

Conversely, Ironton’s pitching shut down the Talmadge offense. Winning pitcher Kerstin Roach and relievers Maddox Vass and Tommy Sheridan combined on a three-hitter.

“Roach started and threw well and then Vass and Sheridan did a nice job finishing up,” said Ironton manager Travis Wylie.

Jonathon Wylie, Connor Kleinman, Braden Schreck and Hunter Freeman all got three hits to lead Ironton. Tommy Sheridan, Brady Medinger, Anthony Daniels and Drew Brown each had a hit.

“We’ve been getting consistent hitting from Kelinman, Freeman and Sheridan, too,” said Wylie.

“It was a good team win. Once again, we’re taking it one win a day.”

Freeman got two doubles and drove in four runs. Daniels doubled home two runs while Sheridan had a double and an RBI.

Schreck drove in two runs while Wylie, Kleinman and Brady Moatz had one RBI each.
