Fighting Tiger golfers play well despite loss at Chillicothe Unioto

CHILLICOTHE — What a difference a day can make.
The Ironton Fighting Tigers bounced back from unimpressive performance on Monday at their invitational to post a much more impressive effort on Tuesday against the Unioto Shermans at the Jaycee’s Golf Course.
After shooting a 413 on their home course, Ironton had a 367 team score despite falling to the host Shermans 335 total.
Chandler Dodson led Ironton with an 84 and Mitchell Weisgarber was just one stroke behind. James Carter and Mason Slagel posted identical scores of 99.
Trevor Hacker finished with a 106 and Jake Thomas 115 to round out the Ironton scoring.
Unioto’s Ty Schoeblock took medalist honors with a 76. Jacob Calvin was next with an 82, Cole Karr had an 88, and Max Rose an 89.
Luke Gerber carded a 94 and Levi Gerber 103 for the Shermans.
Ironton will play in the Portsmouth Invitational at the Portsmouth Elks Country Club on Thursday.
