Ohio University Southern, Mountwest form partnership

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Mountwest Community and Technical College signed two memorandums of understanding with Ohio University Southern that will allow students to begin bachelor’s degree programs at Mountwest and finish at Ohio University Southern.
“We are thrilled to form a partnership with Ohio University Southern that will provide easy access, low cost educational opportunities to individuals in the Tri-State area,” said Dr. Keith Cotroneo, president of Mountwest.
The first memorandum of understanding outlines a 1+3 pathway that will allow students to complete the first year of a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Mountwest and the last three years at Ohio University Southern.
The second memorandum of understanding details a 2+2 program that gives students the opportunity to complete the first two years of a Bachelor of Social Work degree at Mountwest and the last two years at Ohio University Southern.
Dr. Cotroneo and Dr. Nicole Pennington, dean of Ohio University Southern, signed the agreements on Aug. 15 at the Mountwest Community and Technical College campus.
