Joey Malone

May 19, 1969 — Aug. 23, 2016

Michael Joseph “Joey” Malone, 47, of Pedro, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington. The Milton, Florida, native was born May 19, 1969, the son of William “Bill” and Dorothy “Dottie” Scaggs Malone.

Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Millard (Shirley McFann) Scaggs and William (Ione Gore) Malone.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Joshua Malone of Pedro; three grandchildren, Blaize, Aspen and Payton Malone, all of Pedro; a brother, Scott (Becky) Malone, of Pedro; nieces and nephews, Nate, Luke, Ashee, Anthony, Kadin and Noah; and fiancée, Tara Boggs, of Coal Grove.

Joey was a 1987 graduate of Rock Hill High School and attended Ohio University. He was a former employee of Lambert’s Market and was most recently an agent for Transamerica Life Insurance Company. He coached Rock Hill Little League and Senior League baseball for 11 years. He loved deer hunting, turkey hunting, golfing, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He formerly attended Decatur Missionary Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and his dog, Molly.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with pastor John Paul Patterson and pastor Ronnie Blagg officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery, Pedro, and friends and family may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Billy Bradshaw, Matthew Bradshaw, Steven Bradshaw, David Malone, Chris Malone, Nate Malone and Zach Zornes. Clifford Neal

Oct. 24, 1938 — Aug. 24, 2016

Clifford F. Neal, 77, of Kitts Hill, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Ironton. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Robert Dudding and pastor Mike Triplett officiating. Burial will follow at Leatherwood Cemetery, Kitts Hill.

He was born Oct. 24, 1938, in Kitts Hill, a son of the late Clinton B. and Christina A. Webb Neal. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillian G. South Neal. Clifford became a member of the South Point Masonic Lodge 497 in 1963, and received his 50-year pin. He was also a Republican Central Committeeman for Lawrence Township, attended Linville United Baptist Church and loved to play music and sing.

Clifford is survived by his children, Clinton W. (Elizabeth) Neal, of Kitts Hill, and Shannon C. (Carolyn) Neal, of Camden; a brother, Garland J. Neal, of Kitts Hill; grandchildren, Clinton W. (Carrie) Neal, II, Jason C. (Carla) Neal, Anthony Monebrake, Camron Neal and Shaylee Neal; and great-grandchildren, Stephen Neal, Jacob Neal and Abigayle Neal.
