ODOT working on roads

For the week ending Sept. 10: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 9. State Route 217 is reduced to one lane between County Road 2 (Greasy Ridge Road) and Township Road 228 (Capper Ridge Road), one mile west of State Route 775, for a slide repair project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals, and the project is anticipated to be completed by early October.

State Route 217 is closed between Township Road 101 (Yellow Creek Road) and the north junction with State Route 378 for roadway reconstruction. In addition, State Route 378 is reduced to one lane at its junction with State Route 217 as part of the reconstruction.

Throughout construction, State Route 217 motorists will be detoured via State Route 378 and State Route 141, and traffic on State Route 378 will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane with the use of temporary traffic signals. State Route 217 will be closed through mid-September, and all work is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall.

State Route 93 is reduced to one, 12-foot lane between County Road 193 (Telegraph Hill Road) and County Road 40 (Brady Fork Road), for a slide repair project. The project site is located approximately four miles south of the Jackson County line, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in early October.

County Road 4 (Etna-Waterloo Road) is now open following a bridge replacement project immediately east of its junction with State Route 93. Crews have minor finishing work to complete; however, there should be little to no impact to traffic, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed.

State Route 243 is subject to periodic single-lane restrictions during daytime, working hours for a resurfacing project. The work zone extends from U.S. 52 at Coal Grove to just east of Township Road 117 (Corbin Creek Road). Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer.

State Route 775 is open following a bridge replacement project approximately 1.5 miles east of State Route 141, immediately west of Township Road 75 (Buckeye-Greasy Ridge Road). Crews have minor finishing work to complete; however, there should be little to no impact to motorists, and all traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed.

Operations for a bridge repair project on State Route 7 are under way. The project site is situated between County Road 15 (Buffalo Creek Road) and the interchange ramp from U.S. 52, and traffic may be restricted to one, 12-foot lane in either direction during construction. All work is anticipated to be completed in mid-fall.

State Route 650 will be reduced to one lane between U.S. 52 and State Route 522 for resurfacing. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the aid of flaggers during daytime, working hours. The project is scheduled to be completed in early fall.

Construction of the Ironton-Russell Bridge Replacement project continues, and restrictions and traffic pattern changes are in effect on U.S. 23 at the junction with Bellefonte Street and the viaduct in Kentucky, adjacent to the approach for the new structure. KY 244 (Bellefonte Street) will be reduced to one lane at the U.S. 23 viaduct in Kentucky.

Additional restrictions and traffic pattern changes are in effect on U.S. 23 adjacent to the approach for the new structure. The restrictions are in effect through August, and motorists may encounter temporary periods of delay in the work zone.
