FRANKLIN FURNACE — Two plays into the game the Sciotoville East Tartans let everyone know the outcome.

East got a 58-yard touchdown pass from Drew Lowe to Kanyon Bruton on the first play of the game, and then used a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown on Green’s first play of the game to take a 16-0 lead.

The Tartans didn’t let up as they posted a 51-8 Southern Ohio Conference win over the Green Bobcats on Friday.

East (4-0, 1-0) had 396 total yards with 261 coming on the ground. Akia Brown ran six times for 142 yards and a touchdown and also caught three passes for 81 yards and three scores.

Lowe was 4-of-6 passing for 140 yards and threw touchdowns. He also ran for a score.

Green (2-2, 0-1) managed just 114 total yards with 71 coming on the ground. Tyler Darnell ran 20 times for 80 yards and his 6-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter as Green’s only score.

East lead 24-0 after the first quarter and Brown ran 72 yards for a touchdown and caught scoring passes of 59 and 20 in the second quarter as the lead went to 44-0 at the half.

Green hosts Symmes Valley next Friday.
