1 killed in crash on State Route 775

The Ironton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that happened on Saturday.
The crash occurred at 2:23 p.m. on State Route 775 near milepost 12, about 12 miles north of Proctorville.
According to the OSHP, a 2014 Dodge, driven by Rebecca D. Carpenter, 38, of Waterloo, was southbound on State Route 775. A 2000 Chevrolet, driven by John H. Lemaster, 46, of South Point, was driving northbound.
The Dodge drove left of center, sideswiped the Chevrolet and then slid off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
James R. Dillistone, 33, of Huntington, a passenger in the Dodge, was pronounced dead at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington. Both Carpenter and
Lemaster received non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
State Route 775 was closed for about three hours as a result of the crash.
