ASHLAND, Ky. — There was some bad and some good. And in the end, it was all good.
The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers’ play was like a rollercoaster on Monday but it turned out to be a sweet ride as they beat the Ashland Kittens volleyball team in five sets, 24-26, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22 and 15-10.
“I’m very happy to leave Ashland with a win,” said Ironton coach Beth Campbell. “At times we looked great and at times not so great and that’s okay. We are still working to improve those not so great moments.”
D’Laynie Keith led all scorers with 13. Kenzie Cremeens, Alli White and Alyssa Lewis had eight each, Zakia Lee had seven and Lexi Wise added five.
Lee led with 10 blocks and Cremeens had five. Keith and Wise had six digs each.
Offensively, Lewis finished with a career-high 30 assists. Wise racked up 18 kills and Keith had 10.
