Lady Tigers win over CG

The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers went in for the kill.
Volleyball style, that is.
The Lady Fighting Tigers amassed 32 kills as a team in straight sets Ohio Valley Conference volleyball win over the Coal Grove Lady Hornets on Thursday.
Ironton won 25-15, 25-17 and 25-13 as Lexi Wise and D’Laynie Keith combined for 23 kills — Wise with 13 and Keith with 10.
Zakia Lee had five kills while Kenzie Cremeen added three.
Alyssa Lewis recorded a career-high 32 assists in the win.
Lee also had 13 points, Cremeens and Keith eight points each, and Alli White and Wise both finished with seven points apiece.
Keith chipped in six digs in the winning effort.
In the junior varsity match, Ironton (10-2) won 25-10, 25-15.
The Lady Fighting Tigers visit Raceland at 6 p.m. on Monday and will then host South Point in an OVC game on Tuesday that will be the annual “Volley For A Cure” match with money raised donated to the St. Mary’s Pink Ribbon Fund.
