Woodrow Spillman Jr.

Woodrow Spillman Jr., 80 of Ironton, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland. Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Ironton City Mission Church with Tom Lawson and James Cremeans officiating.  Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Russell, Kentucky.

Woodrow was born Dec. 11, 1935, in Lawrence County, a son of the late Woodrow Spillman Sr. and Margaret Davis Spillman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Spillman, David Spillman and Eugene Spillman; infant sister, Ellie; brother-in-law, Millard Russell; and sisters-in-law, Loretta Spillman, Imogene Spillman and Diane Spillman.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Compton Spillman; two sons, Randy Spillman and Brent Spillman; five sisters, Mary Russell, of Ironton, Donna (Frank) Stephenson, of Ironton, and Rhoda (Tom) Lawson, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Rosie (Bill Hanshaw) Akers, of Powellsville, and Ruth (Rick) Picklesimer, of South Point; three brothers, Donald Spillman, of South Point, John (Karen) Spillman, of South Point, and Ronald (Phyllis) Spillman, of Ironton; two grandchildren, John Woodrow Spillman and Amanda Spillman Hatfield; and six great-grandchildren.
