Audrey Kidd

Audrey Phillips Kidd, 79, of Ironton, formerly of Texas City, Texas, passed away at her home in Ironton on Thursday morning, Sept. 29, 2016. Audrey was born July 25, 1937, in Pedro, the daughter of Henry J. Phillips and Lennie Cassidy Phillips.
Audrey spent 26 years in Texas City working at Mae’s Green Kitchen and Dennys, before moving back to Ohio. Audrey was of Baptist faith.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie (Ellin) and Ricky (Wanda); four grandchildren, Rohnee, Ricque, Randi and Andrew; and three great-grandchildren, Mykayla, Kindall and Logan.
In addition to her parents, Audrey is preceded in death by two children, Rita Joan and Don; four brothers, Harold, Wilbur, Loren, and Wendell; and four sisters, Garnet Martin, Opal Slade, Sybil Kinsler and Wilma Carmen.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Ronnie Blagg officiating. Burial will be at Warneke Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. Garland J. Neal, 88, of Kitts Hill, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Robert Dudding officiating.  Burial will follow at Leatherwood Cemetery, Kitts Hill. Garland was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Lawrence County, a son of the late Clinton B. and Christina A. Webb Neal. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lilly Lang Neal; and brother, Clifford Neal.  Garland was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of Leatherwood Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his son and daughter in-law, Kenneth R. and Karen Neal, of Kitts Hill; and one granddaughter, Kaylee Sizemore.  Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday before the service at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed atwww.slackandwallace.com.

Kathleen Hall
Kathleen Hobstetter Hall, 92, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at a local health care center. The Lawrence County native was born May 27, 1924, a daughter of the late Henry and Flossie Kelley Hobstetter. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Orlyn Lowell Hall, whom she married July 26, 1944.
Mrs. Hall was a 1942 graduate of Kitts Hill High School and formerly attended Linnville Baptist Church. She was a school secretary for the Middletown Board of Education for 42 years, retiring Nov. 1, 1988. She was a member of the Hocking Valley Car Club and enjoyed camping and traveling. She loved spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Henry Hobstetter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carolyn K. (Gary) Martin, of Kissimmee, Florida; granddaughter, Lorinda Lyn (Jason) Givens, of Junction City; great-grandson, Trey Charles Givens, of Junction City; and a special friends, John Scott, of Willow Wood, and Rob and Vicki Bellotte.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Dr. Scott Mann and pastor Rob Bellotte officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky. The visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland, KY 41101. Nancy Louise Smeltzer Baird, 68, of Hamilton, formerly of Ironton, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at her residence in Hamilton. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Franklin Furnace, with the Rev. Gary Arthurs officiating. There will be no public visitation. Gloria May Stapleton, 70, of Proctorville, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
