PROCTORVILLE — Road wins are never easy, but that OK with the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers as long as they win.
Ironton took a tough straight sets Ohio Valley Conference volleyball win over the Fairland Lady Dragons on Tuesday, 25-22, 25-14, 25-23.
“It’s always good to get the win on the road. We are getting close to completing our regular season and seeding for the sectional tournament takes place this weekend,” said Ironton coach Beth Campbell.
Ironton (14-5, 7-4) was led by D’Laynie Keith with 13 points and Alyssa Lewis with 11. Kenzie Cremeens and Ali White scored five each.
Nicole Wagner had nine points and Emily Chapman five for Fairland.
Lexi Wise slammed down 12 kills for Ironton with Keith getting six. Lewis has 20 assists, Zakie Lee was strong at the net again with 10 blocks while Cremeens had six blocks.
Keith, White and Cremeens combined for 20 digs on the back row.
In the reserve game, Ironton won in two sets, 25-12, 25-21.
Riley Schreck led Ironton with 12 points while Shay Cox and Peighton Rowe had six each.
Brooklyn McClain had four points for Fairland.
Ironton visits Chesapeake on Thursday in an OVC game. The Lady Tigers end the regular season next week with home games on Tuesday against Division II No. 8-ranked Gallipolis and on Thursday against Rock Hill in a varsity-only game.
