Diana Lynn Joy, 54, of Ashland, Kentucky, went to be with her Lord and joined her son in Heaven on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born Feb. 16, 1962, a daughter of the late Shirley Louise Johnson Womack. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jim Joy, whom she married Aug. 14, 1976.
Mrs. Joy attended Ironton High School and was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker and the worlds best Nana to her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, James Thomas Joy; and three brothers, Daryl Womack, the Rev. Dale Womack and Lawrence Craig “Bubba” Patterson.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lisa Joy, of Ashland, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Emmalee Stambough and Jakob Stambough; two brothers, David Womack, of Brandon Florida, and Douglas Womack, of Arlington, Texas; and a sister, Tammy Hidaigo, of Brooksville, Florida.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Junior Furnace Cemetery in Franklin Furnace with the Rev. Leon Dalton officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

Mary Ann Gorby, 76, of Proctorville, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at home. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, by pastor Carl Black.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
