Reds, Fox Sports ink extension deal

CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Reds announced Wednesday the extension of its television broadcast rights agreement with FOX Sports Ohio. Terms were not disclosed.
“FOX Sports Ohio has been a terrific TV partner, and we are very happy to continue the relationship,” said Reds’ president and CEO Robert H. Castellini.
“We are confident in their ability to produce quality content and game broadcasts for Reds fans.”
Castellini added, “The extension brings the Reds’ broadcast rights in line with today’s valuations, providing certainty that will help ensure the team will be competitive.”
“We are proud to extend our long-standing partnership with the Reds organization well into the future,” said Francois McGillicuddy, senior vice president and general manager of FOX Sports Ohio and SportsTime Ohio.
In addition to producing Reds games with Reds Live pre- and post-game show coverage, FOX Sports Ohio features additional Reds programming that includes spring training games live from Goodyear Ballpark, Reds Weekly and other original programs such as Spotlight, Roundtable and Cup of Coffee shows.
Televising Reds games since 1998, FOX Sports Ohio has taken production of Reds events to new heights. The network’s Emmy Award-winning coverage of Reds Opening Day has grown to include a full day of live and original programming.
FOX Sports Ohio has also won Emmy Awards for its production of Reds baseball games as well as Reds Live pre- and post-game shows.
