PEDRO — It seems the more Tylan Eastham runs, the better she gets.
That’s a trend she hopes continues.
Eastham ran a 21:53.94 at the district meet to finish 22nd among 166 runners. Eastham was among the top 24 runners and thus qualified to run in the Division III regional meet Saturday at Pickerington North High School.
Eastham was ninth overall in the Ohio Valley Conference meet with a 22:27.85 time. After lowering her time at the district meet, Eastham is shooting for an even better time at the regional meet.
“I really want to break 21 (minutes), but we’ll just go out there and see how I do,” said Eastham.
The Redwomen senior began running cross country in the seventh grade.
“My dad ran in high school and he asked me to try it and ever since then I’ve loved it,” said Eastham.
Having been to the regional meet last year, Eastham is hoping to draw on her past experience to help with this year’s trip.
“I know a little bit of what to expect, but it actually might be harder this year. I’m just going to go out there and give it my all,” said Eatham.
The regional meet is Saturday at Pickerington North High School. The boys Div. II is 11 a.m., the boys; Div. II is 11:45 a.m., the boys Div I is 12:30 p.m., the girls Div. II at 1:30, the girls Div. 11 is 2:15 and the girls Div. I is at 3 p.m.
