Area XC runners state bound

PICKERINGTON — There’s going to be quite a contingency from the area running at the state cross country meet.
The Rock Hill Redmen team will be there along with several members of the Fairland Dragons and Lady Dragons.
The Rock Hill boys’ were fifth overall with 139 points. Leesburg Fairfield was first with 71 followed by Mount Gilead with 99, Caldwell with 105 and Columbus Academy with 123.
The top five teams and top 20 individuals advance to the state meet.
Rock Hill senior Brendon McCormick was fourth overall with a 16:33.40 time.
At No. 26 and 27 were freshman Jasson Aguilera at 17:41.40 and sophomore Ethan Miller with a 17:42.04 time.
Sophomore Victory Aguilera was 36th overall as he ran a 17:51.26 time and sophomore Logan Boggs ran an 18:09.97 to finish 46th. Freshman Eli Baker at a  18:11.72 time and freshman Brady Floyd at 18:58.65 completed the team competitors.
Fairland Dragons’ senior Bryce Day ran a 16:51.35 and was eight overall to earn a berth in the Division II state cross country meet.
The top six teams and 24 individuals qualify for the state meet.
He will be joined by the Fairland Lady Dragons sophomore Deanna Hall who led Fairland with a 14th place finish as she posted a 20:59.45 clocking and earned a trip to the state meet in the girls’ Division III meet.
The top five teams and individuals who finish in the top 20 qualify for the state meet.
The Fairland Lady Dragons were seventh overall as a team with 179 points.
Freshman Olivia Lewis ran a 22:12.12 and was 31st. Freshman Olivia Burge was six spots back with a 22:25.13 time and sophomore McKenna Pannell was 39th at 22:27.30.
Sophomore Haleigh Fuller ran a 22:58.0 to place No. 58. Also running were freshman Kaylan Evanich at 25:48.76 and freshman Kiley Wallace who ran a 27:06.85.
Rock Hill Redwomen senior Tylan Eastham was in the 50th spot with a 22:39.62 time.
The state meets are at National Trail on Saturday. The boys’ Division III meet is 11 a.m. Saturday, the Div. II at 11:45 and the Division I 12:30.
The girls’ state meets are Division III at 1:30 p.m., Division II at 2:15 p.m. and the Division I at 3 p.m.
