Helping for the holidays

In the next few weeks, we will be full force into the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s holidays. For many, those can be the busiest times while cooking dinners, purchasing presents or traveling to friends’ and loved ones’ houses.
These are also some of the busiest times for churches, missions and food pantries across the region.
Throughout the Tri-State, we have many worthwhile organizations that look to make these times a little better for those who are less fortunate and ensure there is a meal on the table, clothes for those in need and a warm place to stay on those cold nights is critical for our communities.
We are thankful for the efforts of all these organizations because they are an integral part of our county. And we encourage those who can to help and take part in their efforts. It does not have to always be monetary to help, but donating time or other resources will be welcome to assist in providing needed aid.
We are very fortunate in Lawrence County and the region to have so many who are willing to jump in and help their neighbors, friends and family. But it will always take the whole community to ensure these needs are met.
